Wolverhampton's attempt to 'eliminate video assistant referee (VAR)' has failed.

Nineteen of the 20 clubs in England's Premier League (EPL) have agreed to maintain VAR next season.

The British public broadcaster BBC reported on the 7th (Korean time), "In the vote to decide whether to keep VAR at the

EPL annual general meeting, 19 out of 20 clubs voted in favor of keeping it," and "Wolverhampton's proposal did not

receive support from other clubs."

As a result of the vote that day, the motion to 'abolish VAR' submitted by Wolverhampton was rejected.

Last month, Wolverhampton had previously called for the abolition of VAR, saying that "although VAR was introduced

with 'good intentions', it has brought about numerous unintended negative consequences, such as damaging the

relationship between fans and football and damaging the 토토 brand value of the EPL."

In response to Wolverhampton's protest, the EPL office also fired back, saying, "While it will reduce match stoppages and

delays, it will still result in more than 100 controversial wrong calls per season in important matches."

For the VAR abolition bill to pass, at least 14 out of 20 clubs had to vote in favor.

However, the 'VAR abolition resolution' was scrapped as it did not receive support from the other 19 clubs except

Wolverhampton.
